Congratulations to Zoe Nakashian, 2026 Silver Beaver Recipient

Zoe Nakashian, our Adult Continuing Education Director, has been named the 2026 Silver Beaver Award recipient by the Caddo Area Council, Scouting’s highest honor for distinguished service to youth at the council level. Zoe’s connection to Scouting runs deep, starting as a Girl Guide in the United Kingdom at age six, where she earned the Baden-Powell Trefoil and the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award before serving as a Girl Guide leader into adulthood. After moving to the United States with her husband Craig, she jumped back into Scouting when her son Meran joined Pack 16, working her way from Den Leader to Cubmaster, completing Wood Badge in 2016, and eventually becoming Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 86, the troop where Meran earned his Eagle Scout rank in 2024.
What truly sets Zoe apart is her work with Troop 6101, a troop she helped launch in 2019 for adults with intellectual disabilities through Opportunities, Inc., where she now serves as Scoutmaster. That commitment earned her the Scouts of America Torch of Gold Award in 2024. Whether she’s teaching merit badges at Winter Camp or showing up wherever she’s needed, Zoe brings the same dedication to every corner of Scouting she touches. Please join us in congratulating Zoe on this well-deserved recognition.
Congratulations Zoe!
